Australia

“Holy shit it smells awful in here”

Surrounded by darkness I slowly gather my senses and think about what could have happened.

Scratching my chin the darkness suddenly turns into a bumpy ride, as though I’m bouncing up and down…. hmm

“I’m in the kangaroo’s pouch!”

Feeling around I noticed a soft spot, it must have been the stomach. In an effort to get free I give it a solid punch…. and well damn. That turned out to be the worst possible decision, because as soon as I did that I felt a solid smack across my head.

That bastard hit me!

That’s when I heard something…it sounded like Aya, it sounded like hope!

“Let me friend go you furry cunt!”

She may be from Ivory Coast but that sounded distinctly Australian.

Almost in tandem with her screams the hopping started getting faster, and that’s when I noticed something. The darkness got a little bit brighter, the seal to the pouch moved with every hop.

Quickly, I maneuvered like a baby in it’s mother’s womb, gave the kangaroo and solid kick to the spine too as a propeller to grab the opening.

Just as I reached out it hit me again in the head but with sheer determination I grabbed the opening and gasped for breath air.

“Aya!! After this we need to get a beer!”

“Kay Kay!! You’re okay!” she screamed with so much excitement.

Suddenly the hopping stopped, I felt gaze of an intense stare on me…. slowly in fear I looked up. Only to find the kangaroo looking right back at me, but I didn’t sense any anger from it. If anything it looked curious, tilting it’s head left…right and back again.

Just when I felt at ease I noticed it reach into the pouch, suddenly I was airborne and before having any time to fully grasp the situation it dropped me on the ground, turned around and ran away.

A puzzled look came across our faces and that’s when Aya spat out a puzzled.

“What the fuck was that?”

I shrug my shoulders in disbelief and let out.

“Maybe it just thought I was a baby kangaroo”

Almost as if to antagonize me Aya starts snickering…trying so hard to hold in her laughter.

“What?!” I ask.

“You’re too ugly to be a kangaroo” and just as she finished that sentence she burst into laughter, falling to her knees and pounding the ground.

“Ugh… I can’t stand you, let’s just go get those beers all that made me stressed and thirsty.”

Wiping tears from her eyes from the laughter, Aya picks me up onto her shoulders and we slowly stroll back to the car just happy the situation ended without any harm done.

Off to the pub!
